Randy Snyder, an award winning artist in the fine art of Raku Pottery, has been making and teaching pottery for over 25 years. Randy has been involved with Sebastopol Center of the Arts as a pottery teacher, and is excited to bring his knowledge to the facility and studio participants.

Randy’s goal is to teach and pass down his craft for all to enjoy. I have been working with ceramics since the 1970’s and created my own business to pursue ceramic artistry professionally in 1992. During this time, I have always been involved with Sebastopol Center of the Arts as a pottery teacher,as well as Rohnert Park Community Center. Teaching ceramics throughout Sonoma County.

Randy Snyder, is at the Artisans’ Co-op as a potter specializing in RAKU. Raku translates to mean enjoyment, contentment, pleasure and happiness according to Randy and that is what you will feel when you first view his elegant vases and containers with their sophisticated shapes and their matte to metallic finishes.

Randy got hooked on throwing pots while in high school and kept throwing them through his college years and part-time while trying various career avenues. He finally decided that the thing he loved to do was pottery and has been a full time artist for the last 28 years. He also teaches at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts and is Ceramic Studio manager and teaches at Rohnert Park Community Center pottery Studio.

Work is on permanent display at the Artisans’ Co-op in Bodega, CA and Upstairs Gallery in Healdsburg.
